Last year my script, Rachel, was one of the five finalists for the UK Jewish Film Festival’s Pears Short Film Fund. Sadly we missed out on the funding but the team came away from pitching to the judges determined to make the film no matter what. And, more than that, we wanted to make a film worthy of being screened at the UK Jewish International Film Festival, as it would have been automatically had we been given the funding.
Today booking opened for the UKJFF and I’m proud to say that Rachel will screen during the festival at JW3 in London, on 19 and 22nd November as part of the British shorts programme:
“Made by some of the UK’s best new talent, these shorts demonstrate unique vision and innovative storytelling.”
This is such and honour and I’m really looking forward to seeing the film at its most beautiful – on a big screen, at its highest definition and with 5:1 surround sound. I hope lots of the kind people who gave to the Kickstarter campaign that made it possible will come along and share in our success.
